Counseling, Medications for Adults

ACT’s behavioral health services for adults include crisis intervention, evaluation, diagnosis and referrals, community support, individual and group therapy, treatment of substance abuse when it is in association with mental illnesses, physician evaluation and medication management.

If hospitalization is needed, we coordinate with the numerous facilities in the area to identify the appropriate inpatient program.

Counseling and medications can help people find relief from distressing psychological symptoms, cope with barriers and difficulties in life, and improve the quality of daily living.

Our outpatient programs focus on individuals who are seriously mentally ill and their families who do not have resources for private services.

Some of the emotional difficulties discussed in group settings include bi-polar disorder, stress and how to manage it, coping with mental illness, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder and trauma, anxiety, and substance abuse/relapse prevention.

Among the problems we treat are emotional and life crises, serious mental illness, mental health emergencies, alcohol and drug abuse, depression and loneliness, sexual and physical abuse, panic disorders and anxiety, bi-polar disorder, schizophrenia, post-traumatic stress, social phobia, obsessive-compulsive disorders, parenting skills/ concerns, relationship difficulties, and inadequate housing.
